Grainlines

The placement of the grainline will determine the FALL or DRAPE of the garment.

•    Accurate grain lines on every pattern piece are vital.  They are the indicators for the grain direction for cutting of pattern pieces and are usually marked parallel to the centre front or centre back of a garment.  Incorrect marking of grain lines will lead to a garment that will not hang correctly once sewn.
